Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming remake of Steven McQueen’s Oscar-nominated heist thriller movie, The Thomas Crown Affair, gets a major filming update from the actor and director. Jordan’s The Thomas Crown Affair remake is currently in production, scheduled to be released by Amazon MGM Studios on March 5, 2027. The story is expected to pull elements from the 1968 original.
The original movie stars McQueen as the titular Thomas Crown, the leader of a group of bank robbers who planned and executed a multi-million dollar heist. Its story focuses on Vicki Anderson, played by Faye Dunaway, an independent investigator who’s hired to parse out who committed the robbery, leading to a game of cat and mouse with unexpected results.
Speaking with Vanity Fair, Jordan revealed that The Thomas Crown Affair‘s remake is almost finished filming. The actor-director, who has been developing this version of the movie for almost 10 years, revealed shooting in Italy will wrap ahead of Thursday, November 27, Thanksgiving in the United States. He explains how much of a dream milestone it is to finish the film:
It’s a tough process, but moments that I’ve imagined in my head for a decade are now being brought to life with a cast that I’m extremely happy to have and really proud of. I’m living a dream, honestly.
