This is the first time an external agency has been brought on board to present the intellectual property.
Renaissance Licensing has announced it has been appointed to represent the name, image and likeness (NIL) rights of the late actor, race car driver and philanthropist, Paul Newman, to ensure the continued integrity and respectful use of his legacy.
Under this new appointment, Renaissance will oversee opportunities that reflect what modern audiences want most today: substance, soul and style with purpose.
“Paul Newman remains one of the most admired and beloved figures in American culture,” says Liz Van Denburg Cohen, partner, Renaissance Licensing. “We take pride in carrying forward legacies that deserve to endure.”
Known for his Oscar-winning film performances, his accomplishments as a race car driver and philanthropy, Newman continues to inspire new generations. Newman’s Own Foundation continues to utilize all the profits and royalties it receives from the sale of Newman’s Own and Paul Newman products to help kids in need and their communities.
“Paul believed in authenticity and generosity in everything he did,” says Fabiana Gil, executive vice president, licensing, Newman’s Own. “Appointing Renaissance Licensing as our agent ensures those values guide how his image and legacy are represented today.”
